Most of the pickguard stuff is too thick for my needs and also not hard or wear resistant enough for what I want. I think I found what I need right here though. Thanks for all your suggestions. 
Just the thing for a gawdy headstock or fretboard dontcha' think!!! |

John, that is a great site! I can see a retro style electric guitar in my future. I'm thinking Jaguar shape wiht this as the pickguard
